“John A. Farrell chronicles the life of Edward M. Kennedy, heralded as one of America’s most important political figures, and provides new insight into his private life and public career, through access to his personal diary and interviews with family members, former staffers, and archivists. In Ted Kennedy: A Life, readers inhabit the mind of the youngest of the Kennedy brothers through his inherited status, scandals, tragedies, and political triumphs.”
John A. Farrell will be appearing at the 2023 Festival. Farrell is a journalist and author. He is a contributing editor to Politico Magazine following a prize-winning career as a newspaperman, most notably at The Denver Post and The Boston Globe, where he worked as White House correspondent and served on the vaunted Spotlight team. His previous books are Richard Nixon: The Life, a biography of the enigmatic 37th president of the United States; Clarence Darrow: Attorney for the Damned, a biography of America’s greatest defense attorney; and Tip O’Neill and the Democratic Century, the definitive account of House Speaker Thomas P. “Tip” O’Neill Jr.
